Leadership and Management
Leadership and management are at the heart of Surrey’s support for schools. The Surrey Sustaining Leadership Strategy is designed to develop and sustain school leadership at all levels. This comprehensive strategy details the courses, training, induction and related activities across the whole spectrum of leadership in all phases.
Our workforce development team ensures a broad range of information is available to schools. This includes information regarding recruitment and retention, NQT induction and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) along with personnel guidance and support.
Close links are maintained with the National College for School Leadership (NCSL) and other organisations including the Primary National Strategy which leads our work with School Improvement Partners in all school phases.
School Improvement Partners work alongside all Surrey schools providing support and challenge to school leaders. They also work with governors to advise during the headteacher performance management process.
